St. Patrick's Day is a March holiday that celebrates the Irish heritage, specifically St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, according to USA TODAY. What better way to celebrate the annual March 17 holiday than with special food menus from local Stockton restaurants.

A wide variety of restaurants are offering St. Patrick's Day specials throughout Stockton on Tuesday or a March menu item, according to Visit Stockton.

Here are five local Stockton restaurants you will want to visit on St. Patrick's Day or this month.

Mezzo Ristorante

Italian restaurant Mezzo Ristorante at 3499 Brookside Road, Suite A in Stockton, is offering a St. Patrick's Day special menu on Tuesday night.

"We’re serving up a special St. Patrick’s Day menu alongside live music next Tuesday, March 17!" a Facebook post states on the Mezzo Ristorante page. "Reserve your table today to enjoy a festive night out."

Menu items include: a corned beef arancini, corned beef and cabbage, corned beef ravioli and roasted halibut. Mezzo Ristorante is open on March 17 for its St. Patrick's Day event from 5 to 8 p.m. with live traditional Irish music by Off to California.

Fired Pizza

The March menu at Fired Pizza includes March specials like the Costine De Manzo, Delta Queen pizza, Lucky Charm drink and a Napoleon dessert.

While Fired Pizza is not open on Tuesday, customers can order something on the menu from Wednesday through Sunday, at 678 Grider Way, Suite A, in Stockton and celebrate the holiday.

Restaurant hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Octavio's

Octavio's Restaurant at 3201 W. Benjamin Holt Drive in Stockton will be offering corned beef tacos on Tuesday, March 17, for St. Patrick's Day until sold out.

The restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Poppy Coffee

Poppy Coffee is offering five drinks on the March specials menu: Pot O' Gold, Shamrock N' Roll, Irish Hills, Irish Breakfast Latte with bacon bites, and Lucky Charm.

Poppy Coffee opens from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day.

Cast Iron Trading Co.

At Cast Iron, customers can order from a one-day St. Patty's Day Specials, available for lunch and dinner from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The menu inlcudes $20 corned beef sando, $12 two hand pockets, $17 corned beef tacos, $19 corned beef totchos and $15 Beyond Shepherds pie.

There will also be live music on Tuesday with Mattie Goodfellow, a Cast Iron post states.

STOCKTON, Calif. — Multiple San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) routes are affected after service was halted Monday due to a board meeting matter, the agency said.

“Due to a Board meeting matter, RTD service is currently halted,” the district wrote in a news release on social media. “We will continue to share updates as more information becomes available.”

An ABC10 reporter at the downtown transit center saw buses parked, blocking a city street and loading areas. Passengers were reportedly wondering what was happening, as they were unable to board buses.

Inside the board meeting room, ABC10 saw numerous RTD employees fill seats in the audience.

ABC10 has an inquiry out to San Joaquin RTD for more information.

In a statement, Stockton Mayor Christina Fugazi called for the immediate restoration of all public transportation services.

“Public transportation is an essential service, not an optional one,” said Mayor Fugazi. “Any action that disrupts residents’ ability to get to work, school, medical appointments, or essential services is unacceptable and unconscionable. I have directed that service be fully restored without delay.”

“These are public dollars, public employees, and essential public services. Using riders and frontline workers as leverage in an internal leadership matter is a failure of professional judgment and leadership.

As a result of today’s service shutdown, seniors missed medical appointments, students were unable to get to school, and working families were left without reliable transportation to their jobs. This harm to the public is real and immediate.

What occurred today is not a labor issue, not a safety issue, and not an operational emergency. It is a failure of professional leadership.

No CEO has the authority, moral or professional, to place the public at risk because their own performance is under review. A CEO earning over $350k a year in taxpayer funds has a duty to ensure uninterrupted service to the public, not to use public resources as leverage in a personnel matter.

I want residents to know; your city government is working with RTD and transportation services will continue.”
