Social Media – Make Real Connections

The internet has broadened options for businesses hoping to reach more customers. More than 1.8 billion people use Facebook every month and 1 out of every 5 minutes people in the US spend on a phone is on Facebook or Instagram. Social media is something every business should utilize to expand their influence all over the internet. But if you believe that likes and comments are all you need for a successful social media presence, you might need to polish your knowledge.

Here are three key things you need to consider to develop real social media connections

Long term relationship

Most of the audiences aren’t in a “purchase now” state of mind, and pushing against their will for an e-commerce experience has a high opportunity cost. Yes, there is a probability of people making a purchase, but the rest will remember that your brand is mostly concerned about itself, not the needs and challenges of its followers. Instead, thinking of each touchpoint in terms of a larger customer journey where each adds to the probability of a chance to build real relationships with followers will remind them that your brand exists because of them.

Value proposition in paid promotions

Don’t forget that you are spending dollars for every engagement made on your promoted post, it is very important that you show an ad which is relevant to your target audience. The post should provide some value proposition, which will eventually become a reason for the audience to click on your post. Targeting the right audience with the right content is the key to a successful Facebook advertising campaign.

Real understanding

There are always feedback outlets and resources that can help you improve your offerings. Social media enables you to creatively ask questions, give and get feedback and opinions from the audience about your brand. You can also wrap it in the form of a contest and offer them free service/product in return for their valued feedback. And as always, remember people want their opinions to be heard; it will help you understand your business from the receiver’s end.

If you maintain a real & active presence on social media, it will keep your fans engaged with your brand and provide you with a chance to make a new customer any second.
